This show is inspired by Maurice Ravels' Piano Concerto for the Left hand. Exploring the story behind Paul Wittgensein commissioning Ravel to write the piece for him after losing his right arm. Alongside this, Gavrillo Princip has his arm tied up with piano wire in a prison cell. These stories weave together to create a show that spans over 100 years of history.

This piece has been internationally toured alongside world renowned pianist Nicholas Mccarthy, theatre makers Ryan O'Shea, Mark Hawkhead and artistic director Michael Pinchbeck. There are two versions of the show which have been toured, I have linked both trailers below.

This piece is commissioned by Attenborough Arts Centre (Leicester), Nottingham Lakeside Arts and Lincoln Performing Arts Centre. Supported using public funding from Arts Council England.

"Musical manuscript will fall from the sky. Doctors will persuade  shell-shocked soldiers to play again. An apple crate will become a piano keyboard. A conductor will become an assassin. An audience will become an orchestra. And a pianist will play."
